Towards a Healthier India
Healthy and productive workforce is an asset for any country, contributing significantly to overall development. The present economic growth rate can be strengthened with a healthy human resource. India’s Human Development Index ranking at 128 out of 177 countries, which is largely due to poor healthcare indicators, is detrimental to its predicted rise as the second largest economy of the world.
The Healthcare sector is expected to drive the growth of economy as well as play a significant role in employment. Given the significance of skill development as well as the quantum of funding involved, there is also the overarching need for quality structures to be in place, especially from the perspective of successful implementation.
